Naomi Osaka moved through the draw's most anticipated pairing with authority, dismissing Leylah Fernandez — who had beaten Mirra Andreeva in the previous round — 6-4, 6-4. Osaka's serve was the decisive weapon throughout: she won the first set cleanly and maintained control in the second despite Fernandez's efforts to change the pace. Gauff and the completed Toronto eight

Coco Gauff brought Anastasia Korneeva's impressive week to a close with a composed 6-3, 6-1 win that ended what had been one of the tournament's more surprising runs. Korneeva had defeated higher-ranked opponents to reach the last sixteen, but Gauff was a step too far: the American was dominant on return and broke serve multiple times in a convincing display. The full Toronto quarter-final field now reads Bencic, Osaka, Gauff and Rybakina from Monday's winners, joined by Ekaterina Alexandrova, Elina Svitolina, Iga Swiatek and Diana Shnaider.
